For all the football loving fans around Europe who intend to grace the occasion or visit Ukraine this summer you have nothing to fear or worry about when it comes to communication or moving around with Trains as the Ukrainian railways carried out preliminary tentative calculation of
the number of volunteers with foreign language skills needed to overcome
language barrier with football fans of the competition Euro-2012 and
the guest of the receiving cities on the railway stations and land sides,
it makes in general - 142 people, among them on the railways:
- Pivdenno-Zakhidna (Southwestern) (Kyiv) - 32 volunteers,
- Pivdenna (Southern) (Kharkiv) - 20,
- Donetsk – 50,
- Lviv – 40.
Today on the Ukrainian railways the activity concerning
coordination of quantity and place of location of the volunteers on the
railways, land sides of the host cities with local organs of
executive power is managed and we guess as time goes by there will be numerous improvements.
Purchasing of high-speed electric trains to Euro-2012.
In 2010, The Southern railway agreed to buy 10 interurban trainsets
from Korean companies «Hyundai Corporation» and
Hyundai Rotem, with the
delivery of the first 6 before Euro-2012 starts, and 4 till the end of
2012.
In January 2011 it was signed a treaty with joint stock company
«Shkoda Vagonka» on purchasing of 2 double-deck interurban
double-current electric trains.
We guess in these trains you can take your bath, or even do number 1, 2, 3 more comfortably, lots of socket to make use of your laptop and other peripherals, what more could you ask for?
UKRZALIZNYTSIA CALLS TENDER TO HIRE CATERING SERVICE PROVIDER ON HYUNDAI TRAINS
Nothing like a train filled with food, plenty to eat from in a nice relaxing mobile environment (obviously a moving train is Mobile or isn't it?) but before you leap for joy know that it is not for free and that is why the company in-charge of Ukraine's Train has called for catering service provider (not internet service provider); this company will cater to passengers during their
travel by train, if required replenishing food stocks at railway
stations in Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
The inter-regional electric train has a buffet car, equipped with a
refrigerator, an oven, a sink for washing hands, a food storage facility
and two service trolleys.
The buffet has no tables and chairs, as passengers will consume food at their seats, as during a flight by plane.
The company that will serve meals to passengers should be able to
cater for 579 people per trip. Passengers of the first and second class
will be provided with lunch boxes, economy lunches will be also served
to second-class passengers.
A specialized company with technical capabilities and experience of
catering should be hired to arrange catering for passengers in order to
improve the level of their servicing.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia called a tender to select a CLEANING COMPANY that will clean the 10 Hyundai trains, including six at the
railway stations in Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv May through September
2012 and four more train sets in Dnipropetrovsk, and possibly in Odesa
starting from September, as well as two Skoda trains at the railway
stations in Kharkiv and Donetsk.
According to the operating conditions provided by the manufacturer of
the high-speed trains, the wagons will be cleaned in various ways –
between journeys, and every night there will be a more thorough
cleaning. Also, once a month there will be comprehensive cleaning after
technical equipment, all surfaces in the cabin, the vestibule, and
toilets being washed.
Bids for cleaning services, including consumables (detergents, liquid
soap, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates) and options for the
replacement of pillow covers (only replacement or replacement, laundry
and storage) are being considered.
