          I will be periodically bringing you up to speed about recent developments in Nigeria. but for the time being lets take Lagos for a look. I think i have lots of interest in metropolis transportation especially rail way as it is such that is very difficult to implement and manage.
         Lagos is the most populous city in Nigeria if no Africa with the best guess for her population standing at 7,937,932 (2006 census) which is still not even close to the actual over 17 million habitats in the city. Development has encroached the local government areas of this city, awareness in Lagos far supersedes that of the other Nigerian states. Such a condensed state surely will have lots of problems attached to it, congested traffic, limited transportation amenities and this has lead for a need for BRT buses, but the ever growing population of Lagos needs even a flying bus to meet up to this mobile city therefor a LAGOS LIGHT RAIL

        This Lagos Light rail managed by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority will first have the red and blue line as shown below  the Green lines and others will be added after an effective Red and Blue to say.
      

 Work is on day and night to ensure completion of this as the Lagos state government will tap from the NRC's rail lines in addition to it's in-city rail transportation.

As of now the people will have faith in the governments' completion of this project but there are questions that remain un-answered to this ground breaking development to Lagos as a state for above other Nigerian' states and Nigeria as a country.

1. Continuity: the Nigerian leaders have proven time without number that they lack the interest to continue already started project by previous leaders  in so doing leaving so many rooms for corruption, abandoned projects, which have affected the long term implementation of railway service in the country. After Fashola, will the next government continue?
2. Maintenance: We lack in great magnitude the culture to maintain good things we have this is not only attached to the government but in so many ways the People,will a common man refuse the temptation of urinating close by the train station? will be try to hold the pure-water sachet he used till he finds a waste bag? will he take the train like his/her own? Will the government replace broken glassed? repair bad chairs? immediately amend bad railway tracks?
3. Safety: It is not a secret that up until now businesses are still carried out on working railway tracks, or the probability of flood eroding a railway track, getting the people aware of the dangers of staying too close to the railway tracks,what kind of training will be given to the traffic men of the railway. 

 

Having said all the above it is surely a good thing  as this seems like a challenge, as even in the city of Port-harcourt the government is also embarking on overhead railway tracks in the metropolis not to mention others.

 One thing for sure is that if the BRT buses has worked well, then the Lagos Light rail will also and this will also provide benefits like

• Employment: As the Railway industry is on the rise again the need for certain skilled and unskilled profession will arise again and in so doing a large portion of our unemployed youths will be kept busy as a railway system is so large and involves so many logistics to be effective.
• Controlled Education: This might not be the right naming for this but i hope you get my idea: In Germany we know they have lots of schools for engineers, in so doing they have been able to provide home grown engineers to keep up and maintain their economy. Now i will advice many youths or young people to study related field of studies that will enable you work in a railway company or serve as a compliment like: Accountant, ICT, Steward, Hostess, Warden, Captain, Maintenance field of studies, Project manager, Promoting strategist, Receptionist, Technologies and certifications to enable you control railway devices, Businesses in railway stations.
• Competition: A successful Lagos Light Rail will provoke other state government to start implementing similar structures though it might not be exact but the possibilities are there.
• Road Safety: As much as it is a disadvantage, the positive part outshines the negative, as more and more people ply the light rail, even more people will be forced to use the BRT buses forcing the ordinary bus drivers out of business there by having a controlled transportation (the government can buy more buses and employ some out of business bus drivers) then we will have a decongested lagos roads, and the less cars that drives and a road the longer the road lies in good state.

  If somebody were to ask me what creativity was, I would simply say this- Creativity is something that no two people can have the same answer to,  because basically creativity to me might not be creativity to you. To define creativity your own way you have to find out what inspires you. To me creativity is about bringing out positive ideas out of the things that inspire me. If I'm inspired by a packet of spaghetti and I decide to make a Spaghetti earring, who cares what anyone thinks? It's definitely Creativity. 

                                                                     BE UNIQUE

   Creativity to me is:

A. Thinking outside the box: What comes to your mind when you hear thinking outside the box? It means knowing and understanding how your environment (e.g fashion, business, technology e.t.c) operates, but having a different understanding enough for you to stand out. When you have to be in situation to change or do anything, always take a different approach.

B. Imagination: Just as the name is, the ability to form images and sensations that have never being seen, heard or felt. When we close our eyes the pictures, the idea that runs through our head, now that's imagination. Our imaginations should always be different. The environment we find ourselves can affect our imaginations but always remember to imagine the impossible.

C. Reality: Bringing to light our imaginations and thoughts that's what reality is. There can’t be creativity without reality. Reality does not mean it has to look real to everyone, but don't forget there is a thin line between plain stupidity and Creativity, try not to overdo it.

                                                                     STAND OUT

  Creativity is more than just being able to make a pretty collage - though that, undoubtedly, is part of creativity. Creativity is the ability to look at old, familiar things from a new perspective; to dream up new ideas; to express one’s self in various different ways. Creativity is what enables a masterpiece of art to be produced. Great paintings, sculptures, novels, plays and musicals are all born from a creative spirit.  In fact, without creativity, no renowned scientist would ever have achieved what he or she did.

Creativity is deeper than art and invention. What do I mean? It is a definite boon to be a creative dresser, a creative conversationalist or dancer. People tend to want to listen more to a man or woman who can talk about a wide spectrum of topics other than his or her job or boring life. Needless to say, a certain amount of wide reading is required, but it takes a spark of creativity to present such knowledge in an interesting, yet not overbearing way. 

       

        Get this, talent is inborn but creativity is made and tamed, hence parents need to be creative with their children, so that they in turn will have their creativity nurtured. Telling interesting and amusing stories, coaxing children to eat their food and dishing out minimal punishments and advices which will effectively help the children learn from their mistakes, all come from creativity. It does take creativity for a business, marriage or any relationship to work out, to make every day a couple has together meaningful and Special. Yeah that takes creativity.

Hence creativity to me is as important to me as Life. Whenever you imagine something try to follow it, be open minded to learn new things.

VOLUNTEERS- Lending Helping hands

For all the football loving fans around Europe who intend to grace the occasion or visit Ukraine  this summer you have nothing to fear or worry about when it comes to communication or moving around with Trains as the Ukrainian railways carried out preliminary tentative calculation of the number of volunteers with foreign language skills needed to overcome language barrier with football fans of the competition Euro-2012 and the guest of the receiving cities on the railway stations and land sides, it makes in general - 142 people, among them on the railways:

• Pivdenno-Zakhidna (Southwestern)  (Kyiv) - 32 volunteers,
• Pivdenna (Southern) (Kharkiv) - 20,  
• Donetsk – 50,  
• Lviv – 40.

Today on the Ukrainian railways the activity concerning coordination of quantity and place of location of the volunteers on the railways, land sides of the host cities with local organs of executive power  is managed and we guess as time goes by there will be numerous improvements.

       In 2010, The Southern railway agreed to buy 10 interurban trainsets from Korean companies «Hyundai Corporation» and Hyundai Rotem, with the delivery of the first 6 before Euro-2012 starts, and 4 till the end of 2012.

In January 2011 it was signed a treaty with joint stock company «Shkoda Vagonka» on purchasing of 2 double-deck interurban double-current electric trains. 

      We guess in these trains you can take your bath, or even do number 1, 2, 3 more comfortably, lots of socket to make use of your laptop and other peripherals, what more could you ask for?

UKRZALIZNYTSIA CALLS TENDER TO HIRE CATERING SERVICE PROVIDER ON HYUNDAI TRAINS

Nothing like a train filled with food, plenty to eat from in a nice relaxing mobile environment (obviously a moving train is Mobile or isn't it?) but before you leap for joy know that it is not for free and that is why the company in-charge of Ukraine's Train has called for catering service provider (not internet service provider); this company will cater to passengers during their travel by train, if required replenishing food stocks at railway stations in Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
The inter-regional electric train has a buffet car, equipped with a refrigerator, an oven, a sink for washing hands, a food storage facility and two service trolleys.
The buffet has no tables and chairs, as passengers will consume food at their seats, as during a flight by plane.
The company that will serve meals to passengers should be able to cater for 579 people per trip. Passengers of the first and second class will be provided with lunch boxes, economy lunches will be also served to second-class passengers.
A specialized company with technical capabilities and experience of catering should be hired to arrange catering for passengers in order to improve the level of their servicing.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia called a tender to select a CLEANING COMPANY that will clean the 10 Hyundai trains, including six at the railway stations in Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv May through September 2012 and four more train sets in Dnipropetrovsk, and possibly in Odesa starting from September, as well as two Skoda trains at the railway stations in Kharkiv and Donetsk.
According to the operating conditions provided by the manufacturer of the high-speed trains, the wagons will be cleaned in various ways – between journeys, and every night there will be a more thorough cleaning. Also, once a month there will be comprehensive cleaning after technical equipment, all surfaces in the cabin, the vestibule, and toilets being washed.
Bids for cleaning services, including consumables (detergents, liquid soap, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates) and options for the replacement of pillow covers (only replacement or replacement, laundry and storage) are being considered.

Some weeks ago Nokia revealed the improvements of the 808 PureView, runs Nokia belle OS FP1. The users of nokia 701, 700 and 603 will get the feature pack too but the other devices launched with symbian 3 are left behind. Nokia 701 and 700 their CPUs will be bumped to 1.3GHz by the update to match 800 PureView, 603 will remain on 1GHz.

   The Belle FP1 brings faster, new HTML5 web browser, the Microsoft Apps and latest version of Nokia maps.  20 new widget included. Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Headphone will enhance the audio experience for both music and videos.

 Belle FP1 will also improve the user interface though details on that are scarce - the multitasking bar has been updated and the notification bar is even better.

 Nokia Asia announced that Nokia 701, 700 and 603 have started receiving the belle FP1 but the global account is silent on this matter, we do not know if the roll out is happening only in Asia or worldwide.

 For over a long time i have not read a Nigerian news except from those i go through on Facebook or twitter. I decided to scan various Nigerian websites concerning the issue of Railway in Nigeria and almost all think that the railway system of Nigeria is back to life and if not completely will be in no time in this respect let me gradually bring you up to speed.

'By 2015, the Federal Republic of Nigeria is on schedule to have over 8,000 kilometers of state-of-the-art high speed passenger rail. At the end of Phase 1, a network of six lines will connect more than fifty of the country's major cities, with new regional lines extending across the country. Extension work, terminating at neighboring capitals, is to continue past 2020. NAIJARAIL will be one of the world's premier transport systems, and by far the most advanced rail network of Africa.

'With a projections maximum speed of 220km/hour, mainline service is expected to average 150km/hour across the entire network. Cost estimates from the 2008 plan require an outlay of more than US$200b over six years, or approximately US$25m per km.'
